BLC cosmetics (the Australian Thalgo Distributor) wanted to bring their skin care products online, and provide an online presence to their network of salons around Australia.
We developed a custom e-commerce site, listing and detailing all of BLC’s products and services through a manageable administrative back end program. OpenCart was selected as the platform, and the Thalgo skin care website was built using the latest Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) techniques-resulting in immediate Google rankings that surpassed the client’s expectations.

Connecting to a mobile audience
A mobile version was developed to provide a user-friendly interface for site visitors using mobile devices, with a focus on quick shopping.
Improved customer experience
The Spa or Salon Locator allows Thalgo clients to find the nearest spa treatments or salon to them, with over 500 branches currently available on the website. BLC web administrators can now manage salon and spa listings simply and efficiently, and the Google Map API simplifies the updating of addresses for staff, whilst still giving users a familiar mapping user interface.
The sites’ guide section features five categories: Face, Body, Men, Bio, and Sun Care which allows customers to quickly and easily find the thalgo products they’re looking for. Customers are asked questions, and then are guided to the most relevant products for their needs.
The site is equipped with a secure payment gateway and has been integrated with NAB’s Transact product in order to strengthen customer service and increase convenience.
The “My Account” section allows clients to register to be part of the Thalgo Australia Community. Here, users can opt into the Thalgo newsletters and can also use the ‘Your Previous Basket’ function, which serves as a historical record of previous orders from their Thalgo shopping cart.
The OpenCart platform was chosen due to its flexibility with customisation alongside its feature packed base. The client Thalgo Australia (BLC cosmetics) required a multi-store approach for its brands.
