ACD launches a new 100+ page website packed with features with a focus on making services more accessible for its members and the public.
The Website Rundown
Intergy Consulting partnered with a Sydney agency, Radar, to deliver a web solution that would bring their public facing website up to the next level. The college had identified the need for an online repository for skin conditions, along with wanting to provide their members with a searchable profile online to showcase their areas of expertise in the field of dermatology.
“The College began working with Intergy at a stage when an earlier developer had reached the limits of its ability to meet our demanding requirements. The team at Intergy very quickly brought resources to bear that resulted in an essentially seamless transfer and continuation of work. This was no mean feat due to the complexity of the existing scope of the project and the soon to be realized additional scoping required. The Intergy team brought excellent project management skills and dedicated ‘back-end developers’ to produce a first class website and underlying database that met expectations.”

“Intergy was able to exceed our expectations and provide us with a significantly improved website. The new site has been very well received by our members, and they are particularly impressed with its new features including that of an online profile.
James, Kavitha and the team have been great to work with, they are always prepared, and I am always impressed by how well they understand the project and our needs. They have been able to make the project as easy for us as possible.”

About The Client
The Australasian College of Dermatologists (ACD) is a Member focussed organisation which has a proud history dating back nearly 50 years although the practice of dermatology and other skin related issues dates back much further. As part of its growth the College has witnessed the development of the Skin and Cancer Foundation through which research programs are conducted. The College is proud of its services, community and rural engagement and involvement in overseas projects.
The College is governed by a Board of Directors who oversees all aspects of College life. All office bearers and committee members give their time freely to the College in the advancement of teaching, learning, scholarship and quality health care. Quality assurance is an on-going hallmark of the College’s work.
Using a bespoke approach to achieve the Colleges’ goals, workshops were held to gather the scope and ensure that all departments had the opportunity to voice their requirements. This process helped to align both teams.
We then developed a custom site based on the WordPress platform. In selecting this platform, the solution remains scalable, flexible and easily manageable by the admin staff.
Summary of the integrated functions of the solution for this custom WordPress and PHP-based site.
- Find a dermatologist search tool integrating with Google maps.
- A – Z of skin searchable resource 100+ articles.
- College information – 100 plus pages of information.
- Content Management System (CMS) for Admins to manage content.
- Linked to Facebook for sharing on public social media networks.
- News (and other content) custom templates were designed for the site to relay the latest press releases.
Find a Dermatologist Search Tool
A searchable profile for members that allows the public to find their practice details.
Search filters based on name, distance, state and Area of interests.
Intergy used the Google maps API to integrate the Dr’s Profile data overlayed over the familiar Google Maps interface.
A – Z of Skin | Online Resource
Features over a hundred articles, with plans to grow 3 times this over the next 2 years.
The A to Z of Skin information has been developed to help the public to understand more about common skin conditions and problems and how these may be treated, and become an online resource for the public benefit.
Search has been simplified using both common and medical names have been included, as well as the names of medications and treatments.
The team kept an open mind as to what would be used for this project, but the final selection was determined based on the functionality requirements that were documented during the Design and Analysis phase workshops. Also taking into consideration the user stories, future scalability and devices that were highlighted for the sites consumption.
