VerbaCorp - Online Car and Courier Booking / Invoicing

VerbaCorp - Online Car and Courier Booking / Invoicing Case StudyOver the last four years, Intergy has a formed a solid business partnership with VerbaCorp Pty Ltd, delivering software development and support services for many of VerbaCorp’s valued clients.

Intergy Consulting developed an Online Booking and Invoice application used by the Courier Industry. VerbaCorp/Software Integrators engaged Intergy to provide an online system that seamlessly integrates with Transpac, their internal back office system for Courier Booking.

The Solution

Online Booking System

The Online Booking System plays a vital role in the Courier Industry as the bookings can be done simultaneously by multiple users and instant booking notification was provided to the user. The Online Booking system integrates with the back office Transpac application developed by Software Integrators. The online system has a separate address book for each customer to store their regular booking addresses, streamlining the booking process. The online system provides instant booking notification and job reports and tracking to search and track jobs. A real time web based courier tracking application is also provided, so customers have maximum visibility of their job bookings.

Invoice Application

Bulk Print/Email/FTP the invoices and statements to the customers. From within the back office system, users initiate a bulk run of tens of thousands of invoices/statements. Behind the scenes, compressed XML input is transmitted to the SOAP web service. The batch monitor browser tool groups the Invoices by Customer/Output Method and enables the user to run bulk Print/Email/FTP batches in a single click. Scheduled batch processes generate different output formats like PDF, XML and TIFF ready for emailing, printing or FTP.

Technology Used

User Interfaces are developed using Java servlets, applets and JSP. SOAP Web Services are used to interface to the QAS Address Validation service. A MySQL database is used.

Apache FOP objects are used to convert XML file into PDF/XML using stylesheets (created in Altova Stylevision).

All reports are outputted dynamically as PDF objects using PDFLib, Apache FOP components and Ghostscript.
