Speed-E-Gas – Online and Core Business System

“Intergy provides critical support and development services for Speed-E-Gas. In particular Intergy supports our core internal business system, Eclipse, and has recently updated our external website to provide us with a fresh modern look and feel, at the same time adding new functionality (e.g. realtime invoice payment capabilities that integrate with Eclipse). We are very happy with the responsive service Intergy provides, and their general thoughtful IT advise, which has enabled us to streamline certain business processes and ultimately cut costs. We look forward to working with Intergy to take steps to further improve the efficiency of our business, and extend our online offering to our valued customers”

Speed-E-Gas – Online and Core Business System Case StudySpeed-e-gas is one of the leading suppliers of liquefied petroleum (LP) gas in Sydney, Australia. Intergy was originally engaged to provide support and maintenance services for its existing internal customer and order management system. Later, Speed-e-gas approached Intergy to improve and expand their online presence. Specifically, Intergy was asked to redesign the website and more tightly integrate it to their back office system, and also enable the real time payment of invoices. A second objective was to put in place a user friendly content management system so that Speed-e-gas could keep the content of their website up-to-date themselves.

Requirements:

  • Modernised website
  • Content Management System used to enable self-management of web site content.
  • Online Realtime Payments eliminating staff hours spent in payment processing daily.
  • Secure/compliant data-vaulting of credit card numbers.

The Solution

Intergy chose an open source content management system (CMS) called Joomla to build a cost effective foundation to the new website. Intergy supplemented this by creating customised forms and modules, that are linked in real time to their back office system by secure web services. [Joomla is one of the leading open source CMS packages and is used by hundreds of thousands of web sites worldwide].

Intergy used its in-house graphic designers to re-design the website with a new professional look – using attractive colours, layout, and easy navigation. Our in-house SEO (Search Engine Optimization) consultant was used to improve the web site’s ranking.

The real time payment gateway utilised is the BPoint system [provided by the Commonwealth Bank of Australia]. Our integration with this system provided two primary benefits to Speed-e-gas:

  • Credit cards numbers were data vaulted securely within the PCI compliant BPoint system, eliminating the need to store sensitive details within the Speed-e-gas local environment.
  • Payments taken online or over the phone could now be done in real-time, meaning less time spent processing and chasing declined payments later.
